November, 2014: One day one of my collectors came to the studio and asked what I was working on - I told him about this mysterious juxtaposition of Crow and Hummingbird in the painting in progress. He was quiet for a moment and then said, "Well, my wife's favorite bird is hummingbird, and I have a strong preference for crows and ravens, so I should probably look at it." When he saw it he said "I like where this is going!" and in the end the painting is happily situated in the St. Louis area in a gorgeous historic house. There are hummingbirds that play outside the windows! Bringing nature into the home, as spoken of my Frank Lloyd Wright, is one of my goals as I paint. Thanks to all of my collectors who have faith in my ability to do just that.
